Thank you Councillor David Ball

This week we said farewell or should that be Au revoir to Councillor David Ball as he attended his last group meeting. Councillor Ball former Mayor and leader of Ipswich Borough council has stepped down as he prepares to move away choosing the timing so the by-election can be run alongside the county council election.

Firstly I would like to thank Cllr Ball or soon to be Monsieur Ball for the his service to the people of ipswich, and also I would like to thank him on a personal level.

When I first expressed an interest in becoming a councillor David met up with me to offer advice and guidance. Since I was successfully elected in may I have had the pleasure of sitting next to David at each full council meeting and I thank him for his help his guidance and wish him all the best for the future.

As for Whitehouse Ward this is in the capable hands of Councillors Albert Grant and Martin Goonan and Labour have an excellent candidate standing in the by-election. I’ve known the candidate for about 30 years as he is a former Westbourne high school classmate and Ipswich Cardinals American Football teammate. In Colin Wright labour have a candidate who I feel will be great for the residents (his mum knows most of them) and a great addition to the ipswich labour team
